ANALYSIS OF THE MOTIVATING FACTORS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY IN COMPANIES IN SÃO GONÇALO DO AMARANTE/RN

Abstract

In a context of fierce competition, companies need to find solutions to gain competitive advantage and reduce their costs. The generation of energy by photovoltaic cells appears as a solution to reduce costs and improve the image with environmentally conscious customers. Thus, this research aimed to evaluate the motivation of entrepreneurs from different sectors of the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante to invest in the installation of photovoltaic cells. For this, the application of questionnaires with both the owners of the establishments and their customers was used as a method. It was observed that the main motivation for this investment is the reduction of the energy bill. Local managers do not see this action as a form of competitive advantage and customers do not see it as a reason for prioritizing the choice of establishments. In this way, it is clear that there is a need for awareness in the city of the economic, social and environmental benefits of implementing this technology.

Jéssica Maria Damião de Arruda Câmara, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Possui graduação em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2013), graduação em Engenharia de Produção pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2019), mestrado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2016) e doutorado em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (2019). Atualmente é técnica de laboratório área do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte e professor substituto do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Química, com ênfase em Água, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: petróleo, ramnose e biorremediação. Também possui experiência na área de Engenharia de Produção, atuando nas áreas de: Engenharia Econômica, Engenharia de Operações e Estratégia Empresarial.
