FEASIBILITY AND CHALLENGES IN THE EXPORT OF ELECTRONIC WASTE: A CASE STUDY
Abstract
The approach to the export of electronic waste and its challenges concerns the entire problem of reverse logistics and the exponential increase in the generation of electronic waste in the world. The general objective of this research is to analyze the viability of exporting electronic waste treated by the company Recieletro (Brazil), to the company Umicore (Belgium). The research is characterized as exploratory and follows the technical procedures of a case study and bibliographic research. The results presented allowed a better understanding of the capture of this waste and its bottlenecks, especially when it comes to small companies. Thus, it is concluded that there is still no viability in the export of electronic waste by Recieletro, as the company currently does not treat the volume of waste necessary to meet the requirement of the Umicore group.
