Abstract

This work aimed to present the level of importance given to building maintenance in the hotel sector based on a case study carried out in the resumption of accommodation after the Sars Cov2 or Covid-19 pandemic in the hotel chain of Maceió/AL, capital of Alagoas, specifically those installed in the hotel zone of its edge. It aimed to demonstrate that even in the face of the Sars Cov2 pandemic - which closed many hotels or reduced the occupancy of beds to the maximum - the hotel sector remained concerned with building maintenance of its facilities. The bibliographic research methodology was used, having as a data collection tool two questionnaires, one aimed at guests who were in these hotels in the post-pandemic, and another directed at the hotels themselves. The search was based on the hotels' concern with the issue and the guests' perception of how they would be seeing the general state of these hotels. The results can provide information on how the maintenance was carried out in the establishments and how the guests perceived and evaluated such efforts of these establishments. With the answers obtained from the forms and analyzed, it was possible to conclude that there was a concern about the issue and that the guests noticed this, reinforcing that maintenance is an important item for the tourism sector and for customer/host loyalty.
