ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY: INCLUSIVE BUTTON FOOTBALL “TOQUE DE CRAQUE”

Abstract

This work presents the development of an inclusive button soccer game, designed for people with visual impairment, low vision, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The initiative arose from the need to expand opportunities for accessible leisure and to promote social inclusion through adapted resources. The main objective was to create a button soccer table that combines assistive technology with functional design while preserving the playful character of the traditional game. The research was applied in nature, involving the identification of user needs, literature review, institutional partnerships, as well as stages of conception, prototyping, and validation tests. The development resulted in a functional prototype with differentiated embossed buttons, a ball with an internal rattle, adapted goals, simplified rules, and the possibility of mediation by a facilitator. Initial tests indicated good acceptance, increased autonomy, cognitive stimulation, and enhanced social interaction. As a final consideration, the project demonstrated the feasibility of combining cultural tradition and technological innovation in an inclusive product, reinforcing the potential of accessibility-oriented design as a tool for social transformation.
